Today I'm reviewing one of the best budget phone
that has shown a very high uproar in the Indian mobile market and that is
Xiaomi Redmi note 4.
First of all this phone is available in the market
in three variants i.e. 2gb ram 32gb rom, 3gb ram 32gb rom and 4 gb ram 64gb rom
with the price tag of INR9999, INR10999 and INR12999 respectively.
As for me I've been using the 4gb ram variant for
last one month and i must say its quite good in this price category. But as
nobody is perfect so is the Redmi note 4.
So here are some things to consider before buying
this phone.
Design
The phone features a metal body design thats quite
sturdy but slippery in hands. Also the design is not full body metal but the
Top and bottom caps (antenna bands) are made of plastic but they also feel
kinda sturdy and rigid to hold. Due to the the back being slippery a back case
or a flip case is recommended. On the back there is a 13MP camera along with
dual tone flash and a fingerprint sensor. The detection speed of fingerprint
sensor is good but not blazingly fast.
On the top side there is a 3.5mm headphone jack and
an IR blaster. On right side of the phone there are volume up and down buttons
and the power button. On left side there is a hybrid sim tray slot which
supports either dual sim or a single sim and a memory card. On the bottom of
the phone there is a micro usb slot for charging and pc connectivity with the
support of usb on the go alongwith the speaker grill on the right and mic grill
on the left. On the front there is a 5MP front shooter cam along with small
speaker grill above the screen with three keys (back, home,
multitasking/options) at the bottom of the screen.
CAMERA
The camera performance is average and you can easily see some noise in the clicked pictures. Selfie camera has also average performance when it comes to clearity in the selfies. So for the selfie enthusiasts and camera lovers who love taking photographs this phone will not meet you expectations.( moto g5 & g5 plus or honor 6x are quite good options for the camera lovers).
GAMING
Well for the gaming enthusiasts this phone is packed
with Qualcomm snapdragon 625 (14nm FinFET) processor which is quite energy
efficient and quite powerfull also. Also there is Adreno 506 GPU which can play
most of the games even the high end games like N.O.V.A 3, Asphalt
8-Airborne.(Honor 6x is also a good option with slightly fast processor Kirin 655 but for gaming Redmi note 4 is a better choice).
BATTERY LIFE
As the phone is packed with 4100mAh battery so the battery performance is quite good. In my case the phone a full charge was quite enough for a full day with 30% - 35% of the battery remaining at the end of the day even after the heavy usage on the Gaming side as well as the social networking side.
But the only thing it lacks is the fast charging so
in the absence of fast charging it takes almost 2hr35m to fully charge the
battery .
SCREEN AND DISPLAY
Display is 5.5 inches full hd with 2.5D curved glass with nice IPS LCD dislpay with various options for changing the temperature, intensity and screen brightness and also the reading mode option wich makes the use soft on eyes. While walking in the sun the screen remained quite useable with the automatic adjustments of the screen brightness by ambient light sensor.
As for the screen there is actually some sort of
protection (not disclosed by xiaomi) but in addition to that the chance of
damage to screen can be reduced further by applying a good quality tempered
glass.
VOLUME & MIC
Volume is quite louder
even with only one side speaker grill and is mostly clear. Also there are
various different effects you can use while using headphones.
Mic quality is ok but sometimes when you take the
phone little away from you the sound becomes totally inaudible to the recieving
person.
THE CONCLUSION
So guys in the conclusions it is not wrong to say
that it is a good phone but there are certainly some things that need some
improvements.But as lots of people have different tastes so if redmi note 4
suits your taste then go for it but and if it doesn't then its not bad as the
market is full of other choices that you can consider.
