Apple
recently announced its new 2018 iPad specifically targeted at schools and teachers at an
Education-focused Event in Chicago. While it announced its Education Focused
Tablet, there are also rumours that there is an updated iPad pro in production
as we speak. The tablet is available at the price starting at $329 .As per
Apple there will be available a discount specifically for schools and as such
they will get the device for even lower price of $299. So far as now the
discount is available only in the US and there has been no information provided
by Apple regarding the expansion of this discount. The 32 GB variant retails at
$329 & $459(Wi-Fi only and the cellular model respectively) and the 128 GB
variant retails for $419 & $549(Wi-Fi only and the cellular model
respectively). The tablet will be available in three colors as –Silver, Space
Grey and Gold. The shipping is set to next week but the option to order the
device is available and you can order one today (US only).
As
regarding the specs of the tablet nothing other than the A10 Fusion processor seems
new and rest of the specs are same as the previous generation 9.7`` iPad 2017
like Apple e-SIM, same RAM, 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac Wi-Fi modem with speed up to
900Mbps and 300Mbps LTE cellular modem (for cellular models only), Non-removable
Li-Ion 8827 mAh battery with the claimed 10hrs of battery life. It also
features the Retina Display with upgraded camera sensors from the previous
generation iPad pro lineup powering its 8MP rear camera and front 1.2MP 1080p
camera.
As
per Apple, the current A10 Fusion processor packs 50% performance boost in CPU
and Graphics (64-bit architecture, Four-core design, Over 3.3 billion
transistors) providing huge boost to augmented reality which makes it more
powerful than its older brothers and even some PC laptops.
Taking
Education as its main focus the Apple announced Apple School Manager an
application which makes switching users while working easy, fast, hassle free
and can manage lot of Apple-ID’s and can also help in creating Apple-IDs at the
same time. Apple has also upgraded its iCloud storage for students from 5GB to a
massive 200GB.
